We are partnering with a leading financial technology firm to find a Lead Software Development Engineer In Test to collaborate with the Head of QA and create cutting-edge software for seamless currency exchange experiences where you'll play a key role in shaping the overall quality of engineering output.

Job Responsibilities:

- Lead, support, mentor, line-manage, and grow QA Engineers with varying levels of seniority.

- Manage the productivity of QA engineers across the tribe, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

- Oversee the overall quality of engineering output within the domain.

- Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier QA talent.

- Drive quality excellence and best engineering practices, collaborating with QA engineers, software engineers, and engineering managers.

- Work closely with the Head of QA to define a compelling QA strategy and roadmap.

- Drive both medium and long-term QA objectives and key results across the tribe.

- Make pragmatic decisions on where to invest QA effort, considering cost vs value.

- Become a domain expert, understanding technical aspects, QA expertise, and the product offering.

- Clearly communicate risks, successes, and missteps while executing the QA vision.

- Champion cross-functional change, influencing not only your domain but the entire QA organization.

- Embed values and quality engineering principles in everything we do, leading by example.

- Represent the QA organization in the wider engineering and tech community.

Essentials:

- Solid 5 years writing code as Software Development Engineer In Test

- Experience managing QA Engineers across multiple teams simultaneously.

- Proven track record in ensuring high-quality solutions within large cloud-native architectures.

- Strong experience in developing testing architectures for highly available cloud solutions.

- Drive positive change towards Continuous Testing, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

- Proficient in Agile processes and principles, collaborating effectively with product teams.

- Understanding of Cloud-Native architectures and practices (e.g., high-availability, microservices, CI/CD).

- Hands-on experience with API testing and Contract testing.

- Ideally from a background in FinTech, Payments, or Financial Services.

- Passionate about personal and team growth, with a continuous improvement mindset.

- Comfortable challenging the status quo and curious about emerging technologies.

- Strong business and technical vision with coding ability in modern programming languages (Ruby, Scala, Java, JavaScript, or Python).

- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
