Role Overview:
As a Senior Perl Team Lead Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role, blending deep technical expertise with a passion for mentoring and developing your team. You will drive the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused software solutions, working across the project lifecycle to ensure excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams in a "player-coach" model.
- Deliver high-quality software solutions, ensuring they meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Maintain the architectural vision and identify the right tools for various projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, partners, and third-party developers.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of Perl and other tech stacks such as JavaScript.
- Expertise with version control (Git) and various architectural design patterns.
- Proficient in database design and development (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL).
- Experienced in automated unit/integration testing and driving process improvements.
- Skilled in working within an agile environment and handling database changes.
- Proficient with database stored procedures and API integration.
- Familiar with continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.
Leadership Skills:
- Experience managing developers and working with a wider development team (QA, BAs, etc.).
- Ability to deliver outcomes within a prescribed budget and conduct sophisticated budget analyses.
- Capability to meet customer needs and supervise a team of customer advisors.
- Commitment to personal and team development, providing specialized training or coaching.
- Identify process improvements and deliver change management plans.
- Enhance IT Security processes and systems within the assigned unit.
