Role Overview:

As a Senior Perl Team Lead Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role, blending deep technical expertise with a passion for mentoring and developing your team. You will drive the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused software solutions, working across the project lifecycle to ensure excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams in a "player-coach" model.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions, ensuring they meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain the architectural vision and identify the right tools for various projects.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, partners, and third-party developers.

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of Perl and other tech stacks such as JavaScript.
  • Expertise with version control (Git) and various architectural design patterns.
  • Proficient in database design and development (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL).
  • Experienced in automated unit/integration testing and driving process improvements.
  • Skilled in working within an agile environment and handling database changes.
  • Proficient with database stored procedures and API integration.
  • Familiar with continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.

Leadership Skills:

  • Experience managing developers and working with a wider development team (QA, BAs, etc.).
  • Ability to deliver outcomes within a prescribed budget and conduct sophisticated budget analyses.
  • Capability to meet customer needs and supervise a team of customer advisors.
  • Commitment to personal and team development, providing specialized training or coaching.
  • Identify process improvements and deliver change management plans.
  • Enhance IT Security processes and systems within the assigned unit.

  • Ability to define, deliver, and adapt specialized products/services to meet customer needs.
  • Competence in risk management to ensure the organization is not exposed to undue risks.

  • Skilled in developing product specifications and designing testing procedures and standards.
